Your Privacy Matters to Us

Look, we get it - nobody actually reads these things. But since we're handling your car (and your personal info), we figured we'd lay it all out straight. No corporate mumbo-jumbo, just the real deal about how we handle your data here at the shop.

When you bring your ride to us, we're gonna need some basics. Nothing crazy, just what we need to do the job right and keep in touch.

  • Contact stuff: Your name, phone number, email - y'know, so we can tell you when your car's ready or if we find something sketchy under the hood.
  • Vehicle details: Make, model, VIN, service history - basically everything about your car so we don't accidentally put diesel in your Porsche.
  • Payment info: Credit card or payment details when you settle up. We use secure processors, not keeping this stuff on a sticky note.
  • Service records: What we've done to your car, parts used, diagnostic codes - the whole nine yards. Helps us track patterns and catch issues early.
  • Photos & videos: Sometimes we'll snap pics of work in progress or problem areas. Comes in handy when explaining what's going on with your vehicle.

We're not selling your info to random companies or spamming you with junk. Here's what we actually do with it:

  • Schedule appointments and send you reminders (because let's face it, we all forget)
  • Keep track of your service history so we can give you better maintenance advice
  • Send updates about your vehicle when it's in the shop
  • Process payments without any funny business
  • Shoot you occasional reminders about seasonal maintenance - oil changes, winter prep, that sort of thing
  • Improve our services based on what we're seeing across the board
  • Handle warranty claims or follow up on parts if needed

We're mechanics, not marketers. Your info stays with us unless there's a legit reason to share it.

Your data stays in-house for the most part. But there are a few situations where we gotta share:

  • Parts suppliers: Sometimes we need to order specific parts and they'll need your vehicle info. That's it though.
  • Payment processors: Gotta use secure payment systems to handle transactions. They're certified and don't mess around.
  • Insurance companies: Only if you're filing a claim and specifically ask us to coordinate with them.
  • Legal stuff: If we're legally required to (like a court order or something), but that's super rare.
  • Diagnostic software providers: Some of our high-tech equipment connects to manufacturer databases for real-time diagnostics.

We're NOT selling your email to spam lists, sharing your info with advertisers, or doing any of that shady stuff. Period.

Security's important to us. We've got systems in place to keep your data locked down:

  • Encrypted connections for all online stuff
  • Secure servers with regular backups (in case of the unexpected)
  • Limited access - only our staff who need it for their job can see your info
  • Physical security at the shop - we're not leaving customer files laying around
  • Regular software updates to patch any vulnerabilities

Look, no system's 100% bulletproof, but we're doing everything reasonable to keep your data safe. We treat it like we'd want our own info treated.

We hang onto your info for as long as it makes sense:

  • Service records: We keep these for 7 years. It's partly for legal reasons, partly so we can reference past work if you come back.
  • Contact info: As long as you're an active customer. If we haven't heard from you in 5 years, we'll probably clean out the old records.
  • Payment data: Just long enough to process the transaction and handle any potential disputes. Then it's gone.
  • Photos/videos: Usually deleted after a few months unless they're part of your permanent service record.

If you want us to delete your info sooner, just ask. We'll take care of it (keeping only what we're legally required to maintain).

Our website uses some basic cookies - those little files that remember stuff. Nothing invasive, just practical stuff:

  • Session cookies to keep you logged into our booking system
  • Preference cookies so the site remembers your settings
  • Basic analytics to see which pages people actually look at (helps us improve the site)

You can disable cookies in your browser if you want, but some features might not work as smoothly. Your call.

It's your data, so you've got some control over it:

  • Access: Wanna see what we've got on file? Just ask and we'll show you.
  • Correction: If something's wrong or outdated, let us know and we'll fix it.
  • Deletion: Want us to delete your info? We can do that (except what we legally have to keep).
  • Opt-out: Don't want reminder emails? No problem, just tell us or hit unsubscribe.
  • Portability: Need your service records for another shop? We'll get you a copy.

To exercise any of these rights, shoot us an email at service@crimsonetherveil.info or give us a call. We'll handle it within a reasonable timeframe.

Sometimes we might link to parts suppliers, manufacturer sites, or other resources. Once you click those links, you're on their turf and their privacy policies apply. We can't control what they do, so check their policies if you're concerned.

We might update this policy from time to time - new laws, changes in how we operate, whatever. If we make any big changes, we'll let you know via email or a notice on our site. The "Last Updated" date at the top will always reflect when we last tweaked things.

If you keep using our services after we update the policy, that means you're cool with the changes.

Got questions about this privacy policy or how we handle your data? We're here to talk.
